Ballet Folklórico Mexico Lindo, Part of the Arts and Culture committee of the Hispanic American Association of Delaware.


The Folkloric Ballet México Lindo is one of the notable efforts of the Arts and Culture Committee of the Hispanic American Association of Delaware. Although it was born several years ago, in 2017 México Lindo joined the Hispanic American Association of Delaware to grow and start bringing classes to children and adults, as well as focusing on promoting latin culture in general, leading the formation of the Arts and Culture Committee of the association. Aurora Colin, one of the instructors, is member of the board of Directors of the Association, and Teresa Ayala, another of the instructors, is the coordinator of the Art and Culture Committee.

The Arts and Culture Committee has goals to promote Latino art, and as such, is making various efforts besides the Ballet Mexico Lindo. However, the ballet continues to grow with new students, children and adults, and continues to make presentations. Its purpose is to disseminate and preserve the customs and traditions of the Mexican culture. The dances have evolved from generation to generation, the practice of dance is a reason for coexistence where we express our joy.

The Folkloric Ballet Mexico Lindo demonstrates its different dances during social events such as parties and commemorations. This group is composed of dozens of adults, youth and children, each of them has charisma, dedication, responsibility and above all, love and passion for the dance. The group is currently dancing dances of 10 States of the Mexican Republic, among them: Campeche, Chiapas, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Sinaloa and Veracruz.

These are the descriptions of some of their dances:

Jalisco: It borders to the northeast with Nayarit, Zacatecas and Aguas Calientes. With the birth of the mariachi there was the flowering of these sones, it is a dance full of folklore. The sounds of Jalisco are danced with joy, they have different zapateados, slides, faldeos to the compass of the music.

Campeche: It is located in the western part of the Yucatan Peninsula. Campeche has very happy dances and jarana movements, the music comes from the zarandeo and it’s a tropical rhythm.

Chiapas: It is located in the southeast of Mexico. It is one of the states richest in ancestral traditions. The typical costumes are showy, colorful, and elegant. The music is very rich and covers different instruments. Harps, violins, flutes, wind bands, and marimbas. This dance involves faldeos and stomps to the beat of music.

Guerrero: It borders to the north with the states of Mexico and Morelos. Guerrero’s dance consists of hip movements, bandana movements and rapid movements of the feet.

Yucatan: The Yucatecan dances have a great Spanish and Mayan influence. The most popular is the jarana. The dance is done by couples, the steps that are given by zapateado, making spins with your arms up and straight back that allows you to carry a bottle and a tray on the head while the feet move to the rhythm of the music.

El Ballet Folklórico México Lindo es uno de los esfuerzos notables del Comité de Arte y Cultura de la Asociación Hispano-Americana de Delaware. Aunque nació varios años atrás, en el 2017 México Lindo se integró a la Asociación Hispano-Americana de Delaware para crecer y empezar a brindar clases a niños y adultos, así como para enfocarse en promover la cultura Latina en general, liderando la formación del Comité de Arte y Cultura de la Asociación. Aurora Colin, una de las instructoras, es miembro del Board de Directores de la Asociación, y Teresa Ayala, otra de las instructoras, es Coordinadora del Comité de Arte y Cultura.
El Comité de Arte y Cultura tiene metas de fomentar el arte Latino, y como tal, está realizando varios esfuerzos además del Ballet Mexico Lindo. Sin embargo, el ballet sigue creciendo con los nuevos estudiantes, niños y adultos, y sigue realizando presentaciones. Tiene el propósito de difundir y conservar las costumbres y tradiciones de la cultura Mexicana.  Los bailes y las danzas han evolucionado de generación en generación, la práctica de la danza e motivo de convivencia donde expresamos nuestra alegría.
El Ballet Folklórico México Lindo demuestra sus diferentes bailes durante acontecimientos sociales como fiestas y conmemoraciones. Este grupo está compuesto por decenas de adultos, jóvenes y niños, cada uno de ellos tiene un carisma, una entrega, una responsabilidad y sobre todo un amor y pasión por la danza. El grupo actualmente está bailando danzas de lO Estados de la República Mexicana, entre ellos: Campeche, Chiapa ,Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Sinaloa y Veracruz.

Estas son descripciones de algunos de sus bailes:

Jalisco: Colinda al noreste con Nayarit, Zacatecas y Aguas Calientes. Con el nacimiento del mariachi se dio el florecimiento de estos sones, es un baile lleno del folklor. Los sones de Jalisco se bailan con alegría, tienen diferentes zapateados, deslices, faldeos al compas de la música.

Campeche: Se localiza en la parte occidental de la peninsula de Yucatan. Campeche tiene bailes muy alegres y movimientos de jarana, la música proviene del zarandeo y su ritmo es tropical.

Chiapas: Se localiza al sureste de Mexico. Es uno de los estados mas ricos en tradiciones ancestrales. Los trajes típicos son vistosos, coloridos, y elegantes. La música es muy rica y abarca diferentes instrumentos. Arpas, violins, flautas, bandas de viento, y marimbas. Este baile se envuelve de zapateos y faldeos al compas de la música.

Guerrero: Colinda al norte con los estados de Mexico y Morelos. El baile de Guerrero consiste en movimientos de cadera, movimientos de paliacate y movimientos rápidos de los pies.
Yucatán: Los bailes yucatecos tienen una gran influencia española y maya. El mas popular es la jarana. El baile se hace por pareja, los pasos que se dan por zapateado, realizando giros con los brazos en alto y la espalda recta que te permite cargar en la cabeza una botella y una charola mientras que los pies se mueven al ritmo de la música.
